Avast constantly showing unprotected

The screenshot pretty much explains it all. I decided to buy the full version. Ever since it now shows unprotected in the tray icon but when I bring it up it claims it’s protected but shows red anyway. I can’t find any way to fix it. What’s going on?

It is also showing that it is ‘Still’ the Avast Free version.

How did you Upgrade to the paid version ?

The free one came up with an offer for a discount on it and I followed the buttons. The subscription shows up in the app and shows as active both there and on my account online.

Interestingly it also still has a button offering to let me upgrade and if I click on that it will take me all the way through paying for a subscription all over again. I can’t see anywhere to download the not-free version. How do I get that?

Have you tried to register with the license# your received after you purchased the product?

I was able to fix it by hunting around and finding the download for the “demo” of premium. Was really hard to find that though. Would be nice if it had just offered me the download when I upgraded. Also would be nice if that demo download were more visible. Thanks for the help!

@bob3160 Yes. As I mentioned it shows my subscription as active in the app. Seems to have been an issue with it just not providing the download to install the full version over the free one.

About 3 days ago I accepted to upgrade from my paid Avast Internet Security version to Premium version.

Since then the nightmare began, nothing works anymore on my laptop: became awfully sluggish, firewall impossible to activate even after giving repair feature, if clicking the avast UI it takes 5 min full (!!) to load, and once you click the avast interface it breaks my internet so I can’t launch any browser.

Not to forget, I can’t ask for support because now the interface lacks completely this feature, so avast won’t be bothered, so zero suppport! Beware, I had continous paid subscription to avast antivir for the last 10 years!

I told all my friends what happened like in the tenths at least, and the ones that had subscriptions started to renounce to them, and the others I assure you won’t ever purchase it …
