Avast continously scans when i play mp3 with wmp11

Hi,

I have a problem when I play mp3 file whit wmp 11 :

Avast continously scans ( the icon on taskbar rotate continously when I play mp3 files ) when I play this type of file .
If I play a video file avast doesn’t scan .

With WMP 10 there isn’t this problem .

What’s the reason of that ?

My system :

Win xp pro
1MB ram
Avast 4.7.1074
P4 3.2GHz

Isn’t the program looking, for example, for album info in the Internet? or something like that, other activity that invokes the on-access scanning?
If you keep the provider (Standard Shield) opened (left click the ‘a’ blue icon and click details button, choose Standard Shield at left), does it show as being scanning ‘this’ mp3 file?

I use WMP 11 and I have just played a few mp3 files with it. I do not observe the scanning issue that you report. It is possible that this may relate to options selected in the WMP but I rather doubt it.

I think the suggestion from Tech on the Standard Shield may help, if not then try the “Advanced” tab of the Standard Shield and check the “Show detailed info …” box for a while to see which files are being scanned.
