Ever Since I’ve Updated the Windows 11 to its latest version I noticed The windows started to freeze after certain intervals always and the only way to solve it was force reboot. Later Understood that It was Freezing when the Avast shields were Enabled (Mainly the Behaviour and the file shields…also the Anti-Rootkit). After Disabling all the shields the PC works Just fine for many hours and no freezing Issue. I am able to use Firewall without issues but only Freeze when the Core Shields are enabled.
Hope I Would get Some Solution for it or maybe some update patch for the AV
Ive seen quite a lot of posts warning not to download the latest 24H2 due to multiple issues. Ive hardly used my new 11 as dont like it one bit but i did update it last week before seeing all these posts. a totally clean pc took over 2 hours.
now ive only added avast free to that pc but that seems to be working ok.
last night i found a post updating that the warning was only for anyone not using the windows updater page.
Hope they get this crap sorted asap and someone can advice what maybe triggering the issue with avast.
I’m running 24H2 without issue. The secret is to have a backup disk image before you upgrade, so you can restore that image if things go south. Free disk imaging software I’ve personally used: Macrium Free, Aomei Free, Acronis Tru-Image for Western Digital, Acronis Tru-Image for Seagate. Good luck!
I would suggest you uninstall then re-install Avast.
Sometimes Windows Updates do not play nice with other software.
I would reccommend doing image backups before major Windows Updates, but as Microsoft generally give no warning, that means doing image backups regularly, which is not a bad thing.
I like to update Windows manually, when I am available to update I go and do it, it is easier for me.
Tried reinstalling it. Had the Same issue Again. I’ll just have to wait for new patches now ig as I also cannot Rollback the feature update at this point. Thanks Anyways
I have the Same issue after setting my PC Main Drive from ground Up
