avast! detected as spyware by third party

Hmmm. Contact the developer of the software and have tham look into this. ALWIL team what do you think of this?

I’ll try this Spy Cleaner and report back.

Ok,on my PC this program falls into infinite loop of error messages.
It was terminated and uninstalled asap.

I won’t lose this time now… avast is not a spyware and the application is freezing to RejZor :frowning:

Well it doesn’t freeze in the right meaning of the word. It just displays one error message and when i click Ok it shows another one and another one and this probably never ends…
I than terminated its process and uninstalled it since i don’t need such program that displays bilions of error messages.

Maybe a sticky “stay-away-from” topic, in whatever forum would be most appropriate, would be a useful addition here? This sounds like an obvious candidate for mentioning there, and I’m sure there are lots of others.

I use a program called ewido security suite.I also use adaware,spybot,spywareblaster.My pc is clean mostly…
Spycleaner found a spy on my ewido lang.dll?

Hehe lang.dll is the language resource library. It contains no executable code whatsoever… That means your spyware tools must be dumb enough to look for English strings instead of actual code analysis… :wink:

Well, I would like to know what English text in the avast! language library can be so offensive that the SpyCleaner decides it’s a spyware ;D
(Another thing that surprises me that it checks the strings in Unicode.)

As you can see in technical’s first post, it also in the Portugese language file. Wondering what word is the same in bot languages ;D

Well i assume word “avast!” is the same in all languages don’t you think?

Yup ;D Work for a business that does some work on home computers, we see spyware daily on many machines, amazing how many people are using Spyware/Adware to get rid of Spyware/Adware. ::slight_smile:
