hi
I’ve been happy with avast free for 1 yr
on a new gaming pc , avast is simply not allowing me to browse the net
I’ve tested with different browsers - no difference
the only thing I can do is disable avast for 10 mins/ or an hour
and I’m straight online as normal
can’t find any settings at all to help me in avast
its usually automatic
where do I start ?

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind:
I have discovered after i made my post
that it is in face windows firewall that is stopping my internet browsing
so if I turn it off and have avast ON, I can browse
I’ve never had windows firewall act like this.

I have reset the firewall –
now I’m back to avast - upgraded to 2015
my test is this:
bbc.co.uk/news
avast is interfering with the free flow of live news
when I disable for 10 mins - everything ok
so I have disabled web scanning …
not having much effect
what else can I disable or try
before I just have to ditch the product 
Try ad/remove programs…there you will get a repair option… Follow it and reboot
Any change?
If still problems i suggest attaching Farbar diagnostic Logs and let essexboy have a look
I got the areshole as we say in london
removed and installed zonealarm
works perfect
I don’t think avast can handle a really fast machine
its like too slow to catch -up
anyway I use avast fine on my laptop
its great and a low usage memory
moving on
