Avast Disregards Exclusions

Avast is blocking all downloads from a certain site. It’s a false positive (it’s a trusted site, and most other antivirus programs don’t detect any malware). I’ve tried adding this site to the WebShield exclusions list, but Avast still blocks it. The site is “http://www.theword.net”.

I’ve tried adding “http://www.theword.net”, but that didn’t work. Then I tried adding “http://www.theword.net/*”, but it’s still blocked. I even tried adding the direct link to the download file–“http://www.theword.net/files/packages/en-minimal/theword-setup-en-minimal.exe”–and Avast still blocks it.

I’ve also tried restoring the file from the chest and adding it to global exclusions, but it still blocks it later.

The only way I can download from this site is by turning off Avast completely. (Turning off Webshield lets me start the download, but the File System Shield prevents it from downloading completely.)

Anyone know how to fix this?

There is a problem within the mal:gen detection.
Please report it as a false positive:

Well I added .theword.net/ to the web shield exclusions and that lets you visit the site and download. So the exclusion appears to be working.

The problem that then springs up is that downloading the Minimal English package (~6MB) the myD_LgpU.exe.part file being downloaded to your temp download files triggers the File System Shield.
