The last couple off days I have noticed that Avast does not run automatic updates anymore.
Any idea why??
Automatic updates is checked in settings.
The only thing I have change lately is, that I have installed IE Privacy Keeper.
Running XP Sp2, Avast 4.7.844 Danish
Well there have been 3 VPS updates since Sunday. I assume you aren’t getting any errors or warnings ?
What is your VPS version, 0625-2 is the latest one ?
Try a manual update and see if that succeeds or displays a warning and let us know the outcome.
No problems by manuel updates. I have done this for the last couple off days.
No warnings. No errors.
Last manuel update is 625-2.
when I start my computer, Avast shows the red and green arrows, looking for updates, but then nothing happens.
At first I assumed that there where no updates, and surfed happily on the net.
Then at some point, I noticed on “Softpedia” that there was new signatures, and then I looked at my VPS file and noticed that I missed something. ???
I have no Firewall, except for XP´s one.
Question: For how long has the 625-2 file been around? I have manual downloaded for 1 hour ago.
Made a repair, just to see.
Restarted, and now it updated to 0625-3??? By it self.
Is that the latest one.
It is the latest one right NOW (second update today), you can also check the avast! VPS Updates History, although on occasion this web page hasn’t been updated at the same time as the VPS update.
Check the Program Settings, Update (Basic), Details buton, Silent (see image) to ensure you are notified.
Every setting is as it should be, as far I can see. No problems there.
It seems that after a repair, the auto update is working again. Don’t no what caused the problem, but every thing is working fine again.

i had the same problem avst wouldn’t update when i installed it at 9:20 am it was ok but then in program setting update basic details it was still at9:20 and it was 11:25 pm , so i hd to reinstall it adn now i’ll see if everythings ok
In left colulmn of www.avast.com homepage is always up to date list of all latest versions, including the latest VPS.
