When the program is scanning my computer (all the time) it shows me each file it is scanning. This is annoying and I have tried to change all my settings so it just runs in the background without showing me what is being scanned. How do I make this stop??
Are you talking about a message right above the system tray?
This is an option disabled by default. You can turn it off going to the Standard Shield provider settings, Advanced tab an unchecking ‘Show detailed information on action performed’. You can do this for the other providers too. Welcome to avast. The most configurable antivirus around 8)
Show detailed info on performed action, you will need to switch this off for the providers you have changed, see image for Standard Shield, Customize…, Advanced.
