Avast doesn't start firewall when I start PC

Hi Guys,

Since a few days ago Avast has stopped automatically turning on my firewall when I start up my PC. When I start up my PC it’s slower than usual and when I open Avast it says my firewall is turned off. When I turn it on in Avast the program usually crashes and I have to close the program and end the process. I then have to restart my PC and hope that during the restart it has been turned on when I clicked on turn on firewall before the Avast crash.

Can you guys help me fix this?

I’ve just downloaded the latest update from yesterday and the same thing happened again. After the update I had to restart PC and when I did, the firewall was turned off and I had to go through the routine again.

  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Windows 10, 64 bit. What is sp/build? Same as os build that I see at Windows specifications?
None before the issues. I just installed Malwarebytes today that runs together now (14 day trial)
None. Always been Avast on this PC

  1. Download Avast Premium Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premium_security_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Try to do a repair of avast, it’s possible that that can fix and reproduce the issue as well.
