Avast EndPoint Administration Server Hangs

Avast EndPoint Administration Server build 8.0.369 running on a WIN2K8R2 server with 2 CPU 12GB RAM and MSSQL2012 Server. Periodically the Avast Management server will hang, not allowing logins to the console and all email of scan reports stop. Also it appears that all communications with the clients stops at that time. The server logs show no errors. Restarting of the Avast and SQL services does not regain operability. A full restart of the server does regain services. This occurs approx. every 5 to 7 days. In addition this is the second server that the management console has resided on. The console was moved from a previous server in an attempt to resolve this issue. Any thoughts on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. In advance, thank you. JoeK

Please try to add the ports from this http://www.avast.com/en-eu/faq.php?article=AVKB79#idt_18 article to the inbound rules of your firewall/s. If you have any other rules there created by avast!, please delete them. After adding the rules, try restarting ‘avast! Enterprise Administration Server’ service.

The firewalls either windows or Avast are not running on the management server or the desktops at this site. So the ports would not be in question. In addition, why would a blocked port make the Avast management piece on the Avast server hang?
