I’ve just bought 5 licenses of Avast Endpoint Protection for our office (due to my excelent experience with the free edition for home use), but I’m having issues due to the fact that Avast keeps forgetting my settings…
I’m a software developer, so everytime I compile and run a program, Avast wants to put it in the Sandbox, which defeats my purposes…
That normally wouldn’t be a problem: I could just add my development directory to the list of items to be excluded from protection, but as I do that, after some minutes Avast resets to the default settings and forgets anything I’ve put into the exclusion directories, or the fact that I don’t want to type my password everytime I double click on Avast…
I’ve been looking around, but I can’t find this problem referenced anywhere else…
I’ve installed the Avast Small Office Administration on a server machine we have, and an endpoint on my PC…
When I go into the settings of my endpoint, that’s where the problems appear…
yeah you can with a firewall and block the communication ports, but then you block all control.
another way MIGHT be making those special settings via de console but put them in their own container.
For this to work you need to know exactly which settings you want different and then configure those in the settings from the separate container
Curious tho: Which cases are so special that you dont want this to happen? Probably stating the obvious here but the whole point of a central system is to keep things central and control them (exceptions) also central
