Avast error

Hello.Sometimes this error message comes out and when i click OK,explorer.exe reloads.(everything vanishes, except wallpaper, and then shows again)
What is it?
rus

Hi…

The writing appears to be Russian, are you from Russia?

Did some activity or action precede this error, such as installing a piece of software?

As a precaution, I would first run an online scanner to see if this is malware related. Using Internet Explorer, go here…

http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/

You will need to accept an activeX control if asked. Please delete anything it finds, particularly anything labeled with a red circle on the left. If there are such listings (in red,) please post a log when posting next.

If you’re using Windows 9x/ME, go here instead:

Let us know what you find.

Best Regards…

I suggest:

  1. Disable System Restore and reenable it after step 3.
  2. Clean your temporary files.
  3. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
  4. Use SUPERantispyware, MBAM or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.
  5. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
  6. Make a HijackThis log to post here or, better, submit the RunScanner log to to on-line analysis.
  7. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster or Windows Advanced Care.
  8. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.

Thanks for your replies and useful links)
I started online scan and it had find a lot of stuff))I attached logs.
After this CureIT had located no viruses.
This error occured not so frequently so it will take some time to get sure that everything is OK.
Should i delete manually REG files wich avast antirootkit found?
Super AntiSpyware found only Tracking Cookies.

Can’t avast manage them (delete them)?
I think you can go ahead.
Do you have a legit installation of Alcohol 120%? If so, I’ll check it… why is it being showed there?

I haven’t found how to delete them.
Alcohol 120% is installed in my system.I don’t know why is it showed there.

As Tech suggested ,Maybe worth performing a boot time scan so that locked files can be deleted.Right click tray icon>Start avast antivirus>program menu>schedule boot time scan.

Thats what avast found at boot time scan. This error doesn’t occurs any more ;D

One more question:how could i open folder “System Volume Information” ??? There are some viruses…

They are probably dormant in your system restore points. You need to turn off system restore (you will of course lose all your restore points) and reboot. Then switch system restore back on.
