Avast Extension in Google Chrome disables Javascript

Hi I have googled this and not found a solution without switching off the extension.

Running
Avast free
windows 8 (yuck)
chrome Version 31.0.1650.63 m

Any help would be appreciated

Yeah, turn off (disable) the extension, you will still be protected by the Web Shield.

There are quite a number of reports about AOS, hopefully it will be sorted in future versions.
