Since upgrading to Windows 10 build 10547 i have an issue where i can’t access the Avast console even though it says it is running in task manager, does anyone else have this issue as uninstalling and reinstalling Avast doesn’t help?
With the latest version of Avast installed (installed on 19/09/15) on Windows 10 build 10547 these are the problems i am seeing:
1.Unable to access the Avast console.
2. No tray icon appears.
3. Windows 10 fails to restart or shut down.
I tried the ‘SFC /Scannow’ Windows scan to see if it reported any bad files, it came back 100% clear.
I had no option but to UNINSTALL Avast as this solved the Windows 10 startup and shut down problems.
I understand build 10547 was only released yesterday and it is not a consumer build, so expect some issues with software installed, so hoping you guys can look into this?
No i don’t expect problems, i have been using several builds of Windows 10 on the fast ring and and with Avast everytime and this is the first time Avast has caused an issue for me, meaning i have had to uninstall it to make Windows 10 usable.
Hopefully the Avast team will pickup on this thread and if there are other people in the same predicament as me look into the issue.
Exactly, which is the reason i am reporting it here seeing it is Avast that i am having a problem with, so far i have had no help apart from… problems are to be expected! lol
Still no REAL help i see, i have been an Avast user for several years, if there is no real help on this forum then fine i understand that other people may not see this problem, but if all someone can do is talk about beta software (which i obviously know about!) or post links to terminology (which i obviously know about!) then there is no point in replying as Avast has been compatible with Windows 10 Preview for many months and all i did was come in here and kindly report that there seems to be a problem.
As of now i am unfortunately not an Avast user anymore and i won’t bother reporting of a possible issue of Windows 10 builds if this is the sort of none helpful replies i get.
Avast is compatible with windows 10, it may not be compatible with fast ring releases. I fail to see why you do not understand that. Avast will be in the fast ring and test the programme against that that. If there is a problem they will not be able to fix it instantly
I am also on the fast ring yet it immediately reverts on my system when installed. So mayhap I should stop using windows
after the install is successful, create a good restore point.
install Avast and see if everything ok.
In my case, as in others, Avast crashed Windows (or Windows crashed Avast if you prefer) - the UI wouldn’t boot to the login screen. Used System Restore to get back before Avast install…
Looking forward to an announcement that the issues has been found and fixed
