After many restarts, white screens resetting of auto-sign-in and rebooting in and out of
safe mode with networking, I now finally have Avast IS working.
The system reboots properly and the auto sing-in even works properly.
I’ve tested rebooting my system 5 times without any screw ups.
Avast however certainly can’t expect every user to go through what just took me 2 hrs to accomplish.
If you’re on the Insider Preview fast lane, and don’t have my patience or determination, don’t install
Avast till it’s ready for what ever build you happen to be working with.
Avast works very well with the official release of Windows 10.
You and I both. Sill havging some problems with some things in Windows 10 not working properly.
At times, I can’t reach the Settings app or, the Start Menu.
Bypassing the Start Menu is easy, I had lot’s of practice in Windows 8 and 8.1. The settings menu is a different story.
There are many way to get to the Settings Menu but when this happens, none of them work and a reboot is required…
When that happens, I also usually see that the Program Manager takes forever to close.
I am really sorry for your troubles. Anyway, thank you for testing on the early versions of Windows 10. However, we currently do not have an Avast version compatible with Windows 10 10547 and higher. Quite a lot has changed in the latest internal releases of Windows 10 and we are planning to release a micro update aiming at the issues in 10547 and later. Once it is released, even existing 10.x Avast version should be OK.
Yes, in fact, Avast 2016 Beta 1 already contains a bigger part of the necessary fix. However part of it will be later delivered via VPS update. Currently, you may still encounter some issues on Beta 1 with Windows 10547 and later. Thus, I cannot call it a fully compatible version yet.
