Okay, this probably happened today AND yesterday. So, avast! detected my installer for my program called Ultrencrypt (Which I’d like my Family and Friends to try it). It’s supposed to encrypt information and send it to someone so the person who got the message can decode the gibberish to the message the sender is trying to say.
The main purpose is so that in case an intruder hacks into your e-mail or computer, they'll be really confused at all the gibberish you're sending people.
Okay, so when I made a tutorial for my website with Camstudio, and when I downloaded it to demonstrate how it's done, my Google Chrome detected it as "malware". avast! automatically ran it in sandbox, but I set it to ask before you run it in Sandbox.
I have the free version of avast! and I'm thinking of updating it to the latest version (unless it's already updated to the latest version). But I think I have the latest version already. So when avast! makes new version of their free version of the software, can there be less false reports?
Thanks!
P.S I’ll try to get results from VirusTotal and Malware-Bytes.
If it didn’t show, I’m sorry. I am a newbie, but the only antivirus that detected it as malware was McAfee GW Edition.
The other antiviruses were okay with it. If it doesn’t show and you wanna test it out in the sandbox, visit ultrencrypter.weebly.com (Weebly was also okay with the file, too).
What he men is…
When avast detect, there is a pop-up warning. At the Bottom of this there is a “report as false positive” Button to click.
If the file is moved to virus chest ( quarantine) then You Can right click the file, and report as false poitive
OBS: When posting virustotal results, it is easiest to just post the link
Then we will also have the option to see the extra file info…
