Avast firewall started blocking scanners.

I have three scanners on two different wireless networks: home network: 192.168.0. scanner: HP D110; work network: 192.168.1 scanners: HP 8600, Epson NX420. Last week, all of a sudden, my scanning software VueScan cannot see any of the scanners. If I turn off the firewall, VueScan can see the scanners. I have added VueScan to the applications list and gave it full access. I have also listed my two networks in the friends list (again). But still if the firewall is on, VueScan cannot see the scanners.

I have no idea what Network Profiles do. I do not recognize any of the profiles listed. My two wireless networks are not listed. What does Network Profiles do?

How do I get Avast to allow VueScan to work?

Firewall FAQ: https://www.avast.com/en-eu/faq.php?article=AVKB25

Ports for smb scanning are turned on by default. UDP 135-139 and TCP 445. These are what is required for SMB scanning, but with my Avast firewall on I can not scan. If I turn the firewall off, I can scan. What else is required for SMB scanning in the Avast firewall?

Is your firewall network profile in puplic or private mode?
