I’ve just installed the new 2015 version of “Avast Internet Security” (used to be called pro)
On a Windows 7 pc it shows the urgent warning that the firewall has not been activated. I checked, the Windows firewall is activated.
When I try and activate the Avast firewall I get a message “firewall cannot be activated” (words to that effect in another language).
I can’t find any hint from Avast why it can’t activate the Avast firewall. Any ideas about where the activation log is written?
hey and welcome to the forum. do you have a third party firewall installed like comodo, outpost? I’m not sure but i think you can have the windows firewall active at the same time as the avast one but I’m not 100% sure about this. i hope someone more knowledge confirm this.
Thanks Pondus, Mikael,
There are no other firewalls. I was using the 2014 version of Avast Internet Security and got prompted to update it. Which I did.
So there was no de-installation necessary.
