I have d/l the Avast for Smartphone 2006 WM6 version for my Samsung BlackJack. It will install, but then after resetting the phone and trying the app, it will quit with ‘Cannot find avast or one of its components. Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all libraries are available’.
Not sure what to do, as the app appears to have installed correctly.
Well, I can’t get it to work. Unfortunately, the only AV’s I can get to work on this thing are KAV and Big Yellow. Several others simply will not operate on it. Oh well! :-\
I don’t know if this is like the desktop version of avast in that if it finds the presence of another AV it frequently disables elements so that there isn’t a clash of the two AVs, which could result in a lock-up.
As an aside, I have had trouble getting certain AV’s to work with this device in the past. The only ones I have ever been able to get operating are the two in my post above, and Airscanner. It’s weird that others will appear to install fine, but the RTM will not operate, or the program will not load at reset. Strange. Looking forward to trying a test build out to see what the issue might be.
It seems, these 3 DLLs (aygshell.dll, coredll.dll, oleaut32.dll) are missing on Samsung Blackjack devices ???
Unfortunately, I don’t have a Blackjack device so I don’t know what DLLs are missing and which are not. I was also unable to google its ROM image. So, would it be possible pack your Blackjack’s \Windows folder and upload it on our ftp (ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming) ? (please, note that you won’t have READ access to the ftp server, just write - so you won’t even be able to see what you’ve just uploaded). You don’t need to login…
If you do (upload the content), please ZIP it first - or create a subfolder and upload into that (again, you won’t see it).
So, don’t upload multiple files directly into the Incoming folder, it would be hard to say what files there belong to the upload.
If you have a way to pack the \Windows folder on a mobile device while its on, I’m all ears. Cannot copy the files without booting the device, unless there’s some way to boot it without the OS?
Would a screen shot of the .dll’s in the \Windows folder be of help?
