Avast Forum Certificate Problem

Whenever I try to log into Avast forum - I get an insecure or Certificate expired error on both Firefox and Chrome.

Is this normal or is the forum hacked or something?

???

I just did an ipconfig/displaydns and everything seems to be OK on my end.

check your time

Has nothing to do with the time.
I’ve been getting the same thing for a few days already.

No problem with IE8 for me.

could mean that IE8 doesn’t check properly certificates validity ;D (not serious, but I couldn’t help  )

There is another such topic and I think it was Vlk that said the certificate is self certified (or something like that) which some would flag as it isn’t independently certified.

Me, I don’t have that problem as I don’t log out and I allow the relevant cookie so I don’t have to log in every time.

Time is fine.

@ David

I didn’t notice the other similar thread.

Strange as you have posted in it, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=59111.0.

That was only after I made this Topic, I saw it

I think so

Yes, but the point I was making that when you did start this topic there already was one on the subject.

Same here so that it is a lot less bothersome. Every time I start up Opera, I am automatically logged in.

Don’t know guys, it takes a tenth of a sec to login here…and I prefer to clear (all) private data regularly.

I never log out either. As you notice, staying logged in isn’t the answer for prevention.

of course not, it’s the forum software switching either randomly to https, either sending https links as email notifications, nothing to do with login ways…
