Hi all. I think avast is an amazing antivirus, but after running a boot-time scan and choosing fix-all (This scan was overnight)
I found the next morning that my copy of preinstalled Windows 8 has been deactivated, and I would really like to know why.
Any help would be appreciated. (Has anyone else had this problem?)
The first question must be what did Avast detect. Either file name or virus type, windows can be revalidated easily enough
It detected a few windows update setup files (which were “fixed” by avast).
EDIT: Now, it seems that my OS seems to be activated after 30 minutes from booting, however it does still give me the message whenever I sign into it.
Try a windows update and that should resolve the problem
