Avast me recently disable protection REAL TIME Shields at start-up boot, what’s the problem.
In this month ruled out PROTECTION 5 or more times.
And every time I had to manually turn ON anti-virus protection.

I scanned the pc and the pc is clean

When I unistall IObit Security 360
which program do you recommend me for spyware, adware, trojans, keyloggers, bots, worms, hijackers and protect, but that is a free program that does not conflict with Avast free
or that program has some kind of protection that are missing avast free.

I use avast free and iobit security 360 free for two years and never had any problems that I had to reinstall windows

Use free Mbam for a second opinion: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Everything else is pretty well covered by avast.

5.0.677 to prevent this error

i too had to manually turn on avast shields after start up… finally one day avast dint start at all… now i’m forced to use oldversion

i too have a similar problem
Hi ,
I am using avast! Free antivirus
program version 5.1.889 , virus definitions version 110118-0,registred on 6/6/2010
I am using a dial up connection. The program as well as the virus def database were updated more or less regularly.
Recently I noticed the orange icon at the bottom of my desktop showing a ‘caution sign’ on it. When I opened the avast!
User interface I saw a message
“ ATTENTION .Your system is not fully protected…………”
and so on.
“URGENT.Network shield off!”
I tried all open buttons (‘fix now’, ‘turn on’ etc…) but found useless. The following message was displayed!

http://C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\av

I am also pinning a snapshot of my status of network shield!

http://C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\av

(Btw, I tried the ‘start button’ also).
It seems that this shield was not at all running since installation.
How can I run that?
Please help!
My PC runs on

I think what I’ve been noticing is the same thing. Running on XP Pro with a DSL Router.

At times, usually at first power-up in the morning, I get the “!” avast icon warning. If I check, it’s the “Network Shield” not running. Attempts to start it by hand fail. After a while though, I see the green “Data base updated” pop-up. The “!” goes away and the Network Shield is started.

Note: I have “AlwaysConnectedWaitSeconds=120” in avast5.ini because the system often starts before the DSL Router connects. If that means anything?

This is not the worst thing in the world, but annoying.

Thanks
Bob

upgrade to version 6 may solve the problem

Is 6 still in Beta? I Haven’t been prompted yet. Could also cause more problems. Without a known answer, I can live with the delay. Just annoying.

No, 6.0.1000 is the latest final version.

I’ll give it a shot as soon as other things settle down then. V5 have to be uninstalled first?

Oh yah, Is there a link anyware to the Complete Uninstaller for V6? I have it for V5.

Thanks,
Bob
