i recently installed avast free antivirus, and now in firefox settings it says
Your browser is being managed by your organization. anyone else notice this? why is this? and now all the certificates on websites are being verified by avast web/ mailshield.

Firefox is my default browser - in order for the Web Shield to check the site it effectively acts as a middle man. This way the Web Shield can intercept potential malware/sites from being executed before it would be on your system.

This is normal, there is no need to worry about it. Web Shield component needs to connect with Firefox to operate and Firefox by default shows this message when Web Shield is connected with the browser in order to scan web page content.
