Avast free antivirus firewall not available

I struggle with the firewall on avast! When I try to press; Switch on, it comes that the firewall is not available!! Please help me!!

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Thanks for the reply! But when I press, Turn on, it comes up that the firewall is not available, again! I have repaired avast! :frowning: :frowning:

  • Which version of AIS…??
  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV did you use before avast!..??

Very strange, it’s definitely the free version yet the red highlighted warning does mention that the avast firewall is turned off ???

Torko11 was this a trial AIS version that expired and attempts to revert to free or did you install avast free in the first instance ?

Solution would be to download a fresh copy of avast and save then uninstall current copy and run the clean tool in safemode then reboot the system and install the saved copy.
