Last night I updated Avast Free Antivirus and now whenever I launch the Overwatch game from the Blizzard app, Avast prevents it from launching fully. The game is present in my process list but it doesn’t launch (no game screen comes up). No virus/malware message is given. Whenever I uninstall Avast, everything is normal again.
-Windows 10 home with latest updates.
-Avast Free Antivirus 18.3.2333 (build 18.3.3860.316)
I have the procmon logs for both Overwatch and World of Warcraft (see https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=215874.45) for you. Do you have any place other than the public FTP to send it to? I don’t want to upload these files to a public FTP because of a lot of information (including my computer username) is in it.
Only tested for like 1 day but it seems OK now thx If allowed and willing, do you wanna share some technical details about why this happened? Pretty curious.
And it’s back again with the PTR version of the Overwatch game. The PTR version is the beta build of the game which contains changes for the users to test and I HAVE to uninstall Avast to play it. For the love of god, can you please make Avast stop this super annoying intervention. I have to uninstall your product again to start a perfectly legitimate application.
Created a profile just to chime in. Had this issue myself. If Avast blocks a simple game and hasn’t been resolved 1.5 years after being reported I’m staying far away. Uninstalled within 24 hours of installing it.
