Avast free edition deleting picn20.dll from today ?

I have had several calls today at work from customers who use our legit imaging software to say it no longer runs.

It turns out that Avast free edition, the latest version or an older version, from today onwards has decided to quarantine picn20.dll ?

This dll is installed and needed by our imaging software, so i don’t understand why today it wants to delete it all of a sudden ?

All the customers are running windows xp, the one with the latest avast i did manage to exclude the file and that was fine.

The older version though kept deleting it even though i added it to the exclusion, i know this avast needs updating to the latest by the way.

But i am just curious why today this has started happening ?

Thanks

This sounds to be a FP (= false positive).

Please report the file to avast! lab so that it can be fixed asap
