I have the Avast 4.8 but my windows security centre tells me its out of date. I have reloaded it but still this happens. It also won’t let me use msn messenger and it tells me that hotmail has a dodgy certificate.
Can anyone help please?
Is your system time and date correct?
This could be the cause of both the WSC and messenger problem

I don’t believe it is avast that is stopping msn messenger, hotmail, etc. as it doesn’t check certificates all avast is interested in are viruses and their detection.
It also doesn’t give a stuff about dodgy hotmail certificates, it is only interested in the detection of viruses, etc. So if you aren’t getting virus alerts then avast isn’t stopping you.
Are you sure avast is popping up these alerts (I think not), etc. if you can post the image of the alerts ?
What other security software do you have installed ?
