I bought a brand new computer a week ago. Brought it home to play with and check out. Downloaded iTunes so I could sync my Apple devices. Everything worked fine.
Brought it back to the local computer shop where I dropped it off to get all the bloatware removed and such. Office was put on for me, and so was Avast.
Cool. I was a MS Security Essentials guy on my last laptop, but I haven’t heard anything glowing about Win Defender for Win10 so I was okay with having Avast. Plus I trust the guys at this particular shop.
Well, as the subject says, once I got it back, iTunes would not connect with either my iPad or my iPhone.
Apple support couldn’t figure it out on their end either, and after following their instructions to no avail, I’m wondering if there is some setting that I am missing or oblivious to on Avast that may be interfering with iTunes somehow?
My computer picks up both iPad and iPhone as mobile storage devices as well, so the port is/ports are good.
I don’t use iTunes for anything other than to sync my iPhone and iPad, so it’s not that big of a concern. However, my iPad is currently wonky and I need to restore it from factory default and cannot do that if iTunes can’t connect to any of my apple devices!
Also, I see some things about this in the forums, but they’re for Vista/XP and not Windows 10.
Thanks!!
