I’ve been using Avast for quite a few years, free and pro. I thought I’d take time and create an account and post here to point something out that maybe the Avast programmers will take to heart. Avast, more times than not, has gave me problems with Windows Critical Updates, I got tired of having to look for a fix or uninstall over the years so I finally changed AV’s.
Yes, I’ve also notice their AV gets more bloated by the day.
I’ve been building PC’s, creating my own web pages for years, so please do not start with the newb fiasco.
I never had a problem with the MS updates and avast.
I had issues with MS Updates in the past being blocked by Avast on my Win XPSP3 machine. Had to swtch off shields temporarily to achieve update installation after download. But that was in the past and now seems OK with v17. I still check for Failed to install messages even now as although no updates for XP there still are for MS Office etc on XP.
