Hi all i use windows 7 pro 64 bit with Avast free and windows firewall even though avast has anti-spyware does windows defender conflict or is the extra protection worth it let me know what you guys think leave it on or disable it?

Defender doesn’t conflict with avast but at the same time it’s detection rate is rather poor and avast is already covering what defender does so imo i would disable it and save some resources

Many thanks for the info guys. I’ve just changed to Avast Free form AVG and the first thing I got was a ‘Windows Defender is not up to date’ message. I’ll follow your advice and disable it again.
