My system: Mac OSX 10.7.5 Lion, 2.4 GHz, Intel Core i7, 16 GB ram. My Avast version: V7 (38501) Virus Definitions Version: 13032001
For the last few months, every time I run Avast my MacBook Pro freezes. I am attributing this problem to an Avast update because it was not freezing before. Now after 1hour into the scan my computer simply freezes without fail. I have to do a hard power-off and then turn the computer back on. Once the computer is back on, I log into Avast to see the scan report and there is nothing there. The Scan Report section is completely empty as if I never ran a scan! This happens now every time without fail. I am now afraid to run Avast fearing it will crash my Mac yet again…
