Avast freezes or delays videos and music

I’ve noticed that Avast Free Edition freezes or delays the videos on internet(youtube, dailymotion, vimeo) and sometimes the music that is playing in iTunes or AIMP while I browsing on Internet. I use a PC AMD Athlon Dual Core 2.71GHZ, 2GB RAM with Windows XP Professional Edition SP3 and Firefox 3.6, you can help me?

Are you using the latest version (5.0.396) and the latest virus definitions?
How you rebooted your computer lately?

(if not, please do so).

The problem should go away.
