I’ve been using avast! with Windows Vista for several months and everything was OK. Now the green information box does not pop up anymore AND the woman voice telling me “The database has been updated” does not work either. However, “auto update” is still checked for both database and program update. I have set up the brand new version of avast! (4.7.1085) manually but it is still not working. I’ve tried updating the database manually and I believe that it was successfully completed but I’m not sure of it. Indeed nothing is reported in the “visualisateur de journeaux avast!” (Sorry I’ve got the French version and I don’t know the English wording).
Hereafter are some of the late lines (or so) of avast log as you’ve just suggested. You asked for 100-150 lines but then the message exceeds the maximum allowed length.
