Avast hacked? Virus in the System?

My Avast Ultimate has Matrix symbols. When I click on report problem, it changes location.

What’s going on?

I recorded the screen and attached it so you can see:

Is this a virus in the system?

Thanks

I´m having the same issue. And during the last week Avast has been scanning my home Wi Fi network everytime I open my laptop, even when I have disabled the network auto scan.

It either had been compromised for some or this is the worst taste joke a company can pull

Unable to view that video on box[.]com

The Network Inspector settings and actions were stuffed up good and proper (sorry about the technical terms) after the Avast 25.2.xxxx update.

I ended up having to uncheck all settings to stop the bloody popups.

The same is happenig to me? Has anybody info?

I will keep it simple.
Someone screwed up on Alpha and Beta testing for Avast 25.2.xxxx program update.

I recorded the screen and attached it so you can see:

Not sure what you mean by Matrix symbols and it changes location ?

I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Thanks for that video unfortunately English is my native language.
And my Translation app doesn’t do videos so I tried manual entry of your screenshot.

  • Perform intelligent scanning, so you running a Smart Scan something that I rarely do.
  • Mainly because what it returns are weaknesses it finds in the scan - most commonly this will have a paid Avast solution.

  • I now see that you did but this is where the problem lies. Though I’m uncertain what that means.

Following. I am have the same problem. Even did a system restore and it stall came back. I have noticed for some time that full system and boot time scans in the history scans have a nitification that scan didnt finish. I am currently booted in to recovery with avast rescue disk running a scan. Ill.let you know how it goes

What do you mean? That possibly this is not a virus?

That reply was directed to usuario404.

Excuse me i dont mean to intrude. But if we are all speaking about the same issue. I was just curious cause at one point i had considered that if this was caused by an avast update. The matrix like symbols being displayed in the gui look pretty legit. But plz forgive if i was intruding. First time on the forums.

OK - I don’t usually run Smart Scans or other on-demand scans, Avast being an on-access antivirus scanner there is little requirement to do on-demand scans including the Smart Scan.

It found nothing as I expected other than weaknesses which could be resolved by other paid Avast Options. But it rant to completion without issue.

With the thing I´ve done (I wrote it up here) the simbols and banners stoped. I´m not some who knows about these things, but this seems to me unusual

Just a heads to anyone having the matrix issue with avast. I beleive this virus compromised avast security and activated ssh protocol. In the event veiwer i noticed numerous failed logons only a second apart user different user names like “administrator” “admin2” which i beleive to be a brutforce attack although i am no professional.

Hello

Do you know those codes from the movie Matrix? Well… they are in Avast Premium. On the home screen as shown in the image below.

It appeared out of nowhere in Avast. Notice that there is a warning in the lower right corner. This warning says: “If you have encountered any problems, please let us know by reporting it below”. However, when you try to click on report the problem, the green button keeps changing places.

When you finally manage to click the green button to report the problem, a screen opens with the following message:

Welcome to the Matrix!

You have successfully entered the Matrix. But don’t worry, this is all just an April Fools’ Day mistake. Things will go back to “normal” soon…or will they? Log out if you want to forget this ever happened.

The blue pill says: stay in the Matrix and the red pill says: leave the Matrix

I don’t know what happened, but this is very strange! Could Avast have been compromised by a virus? There are other people who are having the same problem…

It may be necessary to format Windows and install it again.

I can’t say for sure. I found a website where people are saying that this is an April Fool’s Day joke.

But now the question remains…is it really a joke or will we have to format the system to install it again?

Im going to be pisswd because i already lost some data. I just performed another system restore. Because I freaked out because the last restore, I did. It still showed up and nothing was showing up on my scanners.Right now, it just updated again.I’ll let you know if that little matrix thing comes on

This is a prank cause. If you click the exit matrix button, it turns it off. But the first rule of thumb is not to click any unusual pop ups.I am p*****, and i’m gonna go co.plain i lost data over this
