Avast has stopped deploying install packages

Hi guys,

I have deployed Avast to around 100 PC’s, however today all of a sudden Avast refuses to deploy install packages to client machines. I have tried the following:-

  • Restarting Avast services
  • Re-creating Avast install/deployment pacakges
  • Re-starting server

Still no joy.

I have checked the remote install log and this is what Avast is reporting:-

11/05/10 15:07:35: rinstInstall begin
11/05/10 15:07:35: Init 50 60 C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\asw9.tmp C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Management Tools\InstPkgs NULL C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\asw8.tmp 0
11/05/10 15:07:35: CreateProcess C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Management Tools\InstPkgs\setup.exe error 2 (The system cannot find the file specified)
11/05/10 15:07:35: TerminateAll
11/05/10 15:07:35: rinstInstall end 2

Any ideas?

Thanks

Nigel James

Hi Nigel,

Welcome to the avast forum,

Due to your log details is looking that your ADNM package installation is corrupted or not completed yet.

I am not sure what is the causes of this issues, but you may make sure to regenerate the new package installer and after that you may try with create MSI package installer first.

cheers,

deploying 1 installer into multi-machine, you need to change the attribute of your installer into read only or burn it in the cd so that corruption can be avoided

So, a scratched CD wouldn’t be corrupted?

I think Yanto is on a better track.
Repair the ADNM installation and see if you can generate better MSI’s.
