Avast has stopped working problem after clean

Hi,

After this message I try to fix the problem by using
this:
http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

I make a mistake , I launch the .exe file before getting in Safe mode
And my pc (XP SP3) has rebooted in safe mode ans always ask me for a password
But the password is not correct ???

I can’t log in to my pc how fix this big problem ?

Thank you

Basveli

Who asks you for a PW…??
In safe mode it can’t be avast!..

Yes it ask me like in normal mode it was ok asking me

but for the same user session when I put the correct password it says “System can’t open session, be sure for user and password…”

Seems like there is another password or something else?
How can I avoid to boot in safe mode and get back my system?

Thank you

Sorry, but I’m not sure I understand what you mean…

So, you can boot into safe mode, but avast! asks you for a PW…??
Or is your XP asking for a PW…??

Sorry so I didn’t give more details…

After launching the AvastlClean.exe file (in normal mode instead of safe mode) this application has done my pc restart in safe mode and XP
asked me for a password.

So because of password problem (it seems not ok but in normal mode it is the correct password) so I decided to restart the pc hoping it will start in normal mode but unfortunatly it does not, pc start always in safe mode.

I have only boot with safe mode but I can’t do nothing.

It is very annoying…

Could you help me please?

Thank you

Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS)

Free Avast

  1. Download avast! Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Ok BUT,

The problem is that I can’t boot into my pc for any way
Now if I can write you it is from another pc.

So how can I boot into my pc correctly,

By avoiding to boot in safe mode (which seems not accept my password) ?
By pressing a key when pc restart to boot in normal mode ?
By consol mode then changing startup settings?
Or if this application has create a password by using this, I don’t know ?

  1. Boot to safe zone with networking.
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)

Or download the uninstaller with your other computer and put it on an USB stick, transfer it and run it.

Ok,

So I prefeer the second choice but when booting to usb device (by bios setting) is the file aswclear.exe run automatically
or must I do something ?

Otherwhise
how do a Boot to safe zone with networking ?

Thank you

Is the application aswclear.exe has perhaps
changed the boot.ini file on my pc?

If I boot in normal mode I think I can use normally my pc but
here I’m stuck with a domain password on safe mode.

Thank you for help

How can I fix this issu ?

Thank you

Sorry, can’t help you with your domain password. Contact your admin.

How fix it without using password ?

Can you boot to normal mode…??

Ok,

I said you that I couldn’t boot in normal mode but anywa

Ok,

I said you that I couldn’t boot in normal mode but anyway now I can
by using a live cd media to boot in my pc and I have changed my boot.ini file.

Now I can boot normally into my pc and I see that Avast! is still in failing mode.

So no I will first boot in safe mode by first acquiring the password
and then only execute your program!

but when you mentioned to follow instructions and then this:
(Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
What do you mean exactly ?

And now I’m in safe mode executinf the file but before removing must I select the correct product ?
Because the default product is “Avast Business Pro (Plus)” bu tmine is “Avast Free 7.0.146”

Can I select the “avast! 7 Free/Pro/Internet Security” ?

Yes, that’s the right one.

Ok,

It’s done, so for installing a new version of Free Avast! which one (Not specially the last) you advise me
which is not heavy and not bugging like this one ?

Thank you
