Avast Home can't run with Kaspersky Anti-Hacker in the same time

Hello !

I am writing this post in order to try to understand why my Avast Home can’t run with Kaspersky Anti-Hacker in the same time.

Indeed, after Kaspersky Anti-Hacker is installed, Avast Home displays a message once the computer has started reading that Avast Home can’t run the Standard Shield and other shields such as the P2P Shield for instance.

Is there a solution so that I can use Avast Home and Kaspersky Anti-Hacker in the same time ?

Thanks in advance.

avast detects the presence of one of the Kaspersky anti-hacker executables that is the same as the kaspersky anti-virus (not sure which one exactly) and this makes avast believe you already have a resident AV installed so it doesn’t install fully to avoid conflict and potential system lock-up.

This has been covered in the forums a many of times to my knowledge, so a forum search for ‘Kaspersky Anti-Hacker’ without the quotes returns many hits, here’s two.

Some have uninstalled anti-hacker, I can’t remember if there were other solutions or work arounds, like changing the kaspersky anti-hacker file name.

As far I know it hasn’t…
A problem of using the same kind antivirus drivers and the conflict like David posted…
