Avast home rocks once again!!!

i was using Trendmicro PC-Cillin Internet Securiy 2007 coz i wanted to have a “full protection package” for about 3months…it was very gd and effective but it used lots of system memory…1 month ago i got infected by a worm from Limewire(pc-cillin hasnt got p2p protection)…i had to delete it by myself coz pc-cillin couldnt delete it…everything went ok except that my system slew down dramatically so i unistalled pc-cillin and installed my favourite mix(AVAST Home-COMODO)…i did a full system scan and Avast found 528 trojans that pc cillin didnt detect!!!probably the trojans were downloaded by the worm…i sent one of them to jotti and to virusscan just to ensure that i was indeed infected and almost all the AV(including the most famous) found it as a trojan…fortunately i hadnt opened these exe files so the trojans werent activated… :-\
AVAST proved once again its effectiveness and reliability

cheers AVAST

Well… did you learn the lesson? ;D
I use Comodo and avast too 8)

Another good reason why I don’t like suites, you are stuck with what they decide is the right combination, ‘jack of all trades, master of none.’ I much prefer to select the programs that suit my needs or requirements.

Trend used to be a very good AV so I don’t know what happened for it to have 528 trojans get past it ???

Welcome back to avast.

Tech i was,i am and i will am a fan of AVAST… i just wanted to test Trendmicro and live the “internet suite experience”…i had used many internet securities in the past(bitdefender, kaspersky and norton)…Bitdefender and Trendmicro are the best…but the lesson i took is this:internet suites sometimes leak and make system errors and vulnerabilities…i mean that even a gd internet suite will get u into trouble coz its a rly “heavy” program if u get me…it gets deeply into the system and thats the main cause of vulnerabilities and high RAM usage…making ur own “light” combination as AVAST-COMODO is the best…u choose ur ptotection…

i think i answered ur question…Trendmicro is still one of the best AV out there…i’m happy for being back to AVAST though…

Layered defense is a good practice 8)

yep…i aggree wilth u…
