Avast Home web page is all text!

I got a new (refurbished) windows 7 64 bit computer and went to http://www.avast.com to download Avast.
All I got was a text only page like this (see text and attached jpg).

I finally had to go to another computer to get the download page url (on CNET) and typed it into the Windows browser.
This was REALLY WEIRD!
Any idea what the problem is?

On occasion I see pages like this as for some reason something hasn’t loaded correctly, so all you see is the underlying text document and no formatting or image.

There really is no way to say for sure why a page may not load correctly, generally I just click Refresh to reload a page and usually that resolves it. Some browsers and their add-ons could block some actions that can effect how a page loads - we don’t know what browser you use nor what add-ons are involved.

The avast home page is .php and on occasion these .php pages may not load correctly.

I tried refresh/reload but it was still the same.

All I could think of was that the W-7 browser didn’t have any add ons installed. Since it was a refurbished pc, it didn’t have any of the usual “trials” or junk loaded. No Java, etc.

Strange that, generally IE shouldn’t have any issues loading .php pages and there aren’t many add-ons for IE.

The avast.com site doesn’t require JAVA (different to JavaScript).

As DavidR mentioned, I also have run across this glitch on occasion and have never really tracked the ‘specific’ cause. Although I have suspected "Browser security/blocker add-ons to be very possible.

I just tried Avast.com on a VMWare machine with W-7 Pro and got the text only results when I use Firefox, but Windows Explorer displays the page correctly.
The only Add on for either browser is Avast Online Security.

The first time the problem appeared was on a new, clean W-7 machine using Internet Explorer.

Very strange. I wonder what is missing that forces the text display.

Well my image was captured from within firefox 41.0.1 so nothing missing for me.
