Avast icon in system tray greyed out...

Strange… I just re-configured Avast to scan my email and now I see the icon in the system tray is greyed out and I am unable to right or left click on it. It’s like it’s dead. Also, I don’t see it doing anything when I receive email either.

I send test emails to myself and the headers say:

Status: O
X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS 0524-2, 06/15/2005), Inbound message
X-Antivirus-Status: Not-Tested

Hmmmmmm… anyone?

Thanks!

Which is your Windows? 98, Me, XP?
Do you use any other antivirus in your computer?

Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
You must be connected to the internet while repairing.

If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

Using Win98
Eudora is my email client
Avast home version

I have tried repairing to no avail. Strange.
I will try uninstalling and reinstalling.

I am so bummed. I have never had any trouble with Avast before in email scanning. I also run AVG but they never conflicted before.

Thanks.

Oopss… they do conflict now. An AVG update of last May start conflicting with avast!
No way, you should uninstall AVG to have avast! Mail working properly.
