Avast icon is showing activity in System Tray, but nothing is running ?

On the system tray, the Avast icon is showing activity from Avast. But there is no scan or other launch/schedule action from Avast that I know off. It is not the update either.

This has been going on for 10 minutes now.

What is it doing and how can I check what it is doing?

Check what processes you have running.
It can be avast is scanning something that runs in the background.

You can often see what processes are accessing what files by running the Windows Resource Monitor tool.

Well from my perspective, that’s always been a problem with “animated icons” on Security software as users see it, and wonder what’s going on not seeing it as the software simply doing its work. ;D

What is it doing and how can I check what it is doing?
avast have realtime protection, meaning any file that moves/data traffic in/out when your computer is on is scanned so maybe windows index is running, torrent program, skype or similar.....
