Hi! I use often Trillian to chat. And I see it’s one of the supported IM software of the IM shield.
Reading the ZA forum I found an article regarding some vulnerabilities in trillian:
http://secunia.com/advisories/14470/
http://secunia.com/advisories/14689/
I know those are old article but I’d like to know if Avast! will monitor that software to protect me against those kind of things. thanks.
Hi,
These are for Trillian version 3. Trillian version 3.1 is the latest version which probably has fixed these issues.
Do you use the latest version?
Mike
I think so. i downloaded it last week. Yes. I hae 3.1 Basic. But I’d like to know if Avast! Will just monitor the files exchanged with this Software or the software itself, so if there will be exploit to it Avast! will detect them.
The IM shield should monitor what is exchanged with the software and standard shield should monitor the program itself.
However, as it is an exploit I don’t know whether an antivirus program will detect this unless it’s the network shield.

Well…at least Avast has all of these. Thanks for the info.
