Avast incompatible with IE 11

I have windows 8 (64 bit) and Internet Explorer 11. When I check IE add-ons I note that Avast is “incompatible” with IE 11. If Avast doesn’t work with my browser then why am I using Avast? NO!! I don’t want Chrome!!

Try unticking “enable enhanced Protected Mode” in Tools/Internet Options/Advanced

Craig… as it is only AOS that is incompatible with IE11 in Enhanced Protected Mode (Web Shield and all other components work just fine), would it not make more sense to uninstall the AOS add-ons, and leave IE10 and IE11 in Enhanced Protected Mode? (IE10 does not list the AOS add-ons as “Incompatible” but does disable them when you first start IE)

Well the Phishing protection is contained within the Online Security add-on as is the site links adviser so it is personal preference for your needs really, IE has the smartscreen filter which I prefer over user based recommendations so I personally don’t use the Online Add-on.

I also don’t use any other toolbars or add-ons so it is easy for me to use Enhanced Protected Mode, if someone did use third party toolbars and add-ons then EPM would need to be turned off anyway which would then leave the opportunities open to use the avast Add-on.

IE10 is not disabling them here on a Windows 7 64 bit system, but maybe I’m not understanding you correctly. Incidentally, I don’t have Enhanced Protected mode ticked.

That’s why the avast add-on is not disabled
