No license is required.
During installation, select 30 days trial and finish. You will get an extension to 180 days (6 month)

Note: Free updates for 6 month are included, but NO tech support

WindowsDeal.com

Hmm, no tech support ?
They forget this webboard and the ticket system.

Mmm. Strange offer and delivery ???

Agreed. Wonder if it’s legit… :-\

Yes your guess is as good as mine.

When going through the WOT reports we find it labeled as: “unethical, scam and potentially illegal”.
See: https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/www.windowsdeal.com?utm_source=addon&utm_content=contextmenu
(reports).
Some there say “good site with many giveaways”?

No details whatsoever… It also shows, Trustworthiness = Excellent and Child Safety = Excellent. So believe every opinion you read on the internet because all opinions are true.

Nothing better than people casting a shadow over something without any facts.

If anyone finds any REAL evidence of malice then post it.

I have strong doubts about the legitimacy of it.
Note that avast isn’t offering such a long trial period, so where did the get they “trial license” for 180 days from ?

Again, no evidence.

You and the others have no more worries. The deal has expired.

Hi Charyb
Did you accept the offer?
How was it installed as I downloaded the Install and got> avast_internet_security_install_online
I myself did not attempt to exe.

Sharewareonsale had a similiar offer, I tried to take advantage of it but it reset me back to the free version as the offer was apparently only for new customers.

The OP in this Topic also speaks of this 180day trial although appears to be having issues.

Until I see a clarification directly from Avast, I’m advising those that have asked me about this to stay clear.
Something just doesn’t smell right. Better safe than sorry.

I’ll agree with bob here. Until Avast has clarified something its best to stay clear.

Thanks for all the evidence showing that this is an untrustworthy deal. All based on a hunch or because you have never heard of it or avast hasn’t run it past you for approval.

I can’t find any evidence where the site is untrustworthy. Can you?

Most probably a custom build, neither official nor supported by Avast. See update below*
Please download Avast from our official website or from an authorized distributor’s only

You use, “Most probably”, like you are not 100% sure of the answer. Where is the list of authorized distributors?

Custom built by who? The installer is digitally signed. Are they forging certificates? How can I have 180 days of trial period with a forged certificate from a site where there is no evidence of malicious activity? I’m not arguing this, I’m just trying to understand how this is possible.

You’re right, my bad. I was under the impression that it was indeed an extended trial, but I tried it myself and the installation file is just the regular 30-days trial, the same installer as in our website.
You mention that you got the 180 days, could you please send me a copy of the file lnicense.avastlic that is at C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast?

See update below*

I’ve got an update… the 180-days trial do exist, it’s an official custom build by Avast, HOWEVER neither of those websites (windowsdeal or sharewareonsale) is an official partner of Avast nor are authorized distributors.
