AVAST internet security blocking browsing and outlook email

Dear experts

AVAST internet security is blocking browsing and emails using outlook, because when i disable it everything is working

I have been using AVAST for almost 4 years and this issue never happened before.

Clean installation done and also AVAST uninstall utility in safe mode but still no joy

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Current version 17.5.2303
Previous one was V14
No other security related software installed
Windows firewall disabled as well

  1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Although I have done it but I will do it again

There are other reports of Outlook being blocked.
It has been reported to Avast.

Confirmed
After test couple of times with browsing sometimes get blocked and sometime doesn’t
Email using outlook keeps getting blocked

Thank you for reporting this issue.
We would like to take a closer look at this. For analysis we need some logs.
Please follow these steps:
First enable debug logging: GUI → Settings → General → Maitenance → Enable debug logging
Then reproduce the issue (turn on mailshield, then launch outlook and try to receive some email).
Then create support package and submit it (guide here: https://www.avast.com/en-us/faq.php?article=AVKB33) and post here the ID of the created package so we can find it.

I have been monitoring the behavior of my avast internet security and since your replied I have noticed browsing and emails are working fine and no more blockage like before.

One problem still is going one that avast is blocking my shared folder to be accessed by other computers.

Avast was installed on a desktop where I shared some folders, laptops can’t access those folders unless I disabled avast.

Yes sharing and security configuration were done correctly and hence if there is no avast or disabled avast laptops can access those folders with no drama
