Avast internet security blocking OUTLOOK

Recently (a week ago) I had my outlook blocked by Avast Internet Security
I didn’t make any changes in my PC (Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit), and if I want to receive and send e-mails, I must disable my Avast.
Something hapened caused by one of the last upgrades of Avast.
Do something, please.
(and don’t tell me I have to re install AVAST AAAAGGGGAAAAIIIIIINNNNN, I can’t stand it anymore, it would be the third time in two months, always caused by issues of AVAST)
Thank you.
Mad

I’m with the same problem.

I checked the certificate; it’s there like you wrote:
" it should be “avast! Web/Mail Shield Root”
So, I guess it’s ok.
Re install? again? Sorry, pal, I’d rather try another thing. what do you suggest?
Thanks for your help.
ps. and… I’m getting sick of Avast. Probably not renewing the signature that expires in 90 days.

Ok, looks like the certificate is installed correctly.
Have you tried to send/receive mail with https scanning disabled?
If not try it and let me know.

Can you send/receive mail if you only disable one of the avast shields?
Start with only disabling the webshield.

Do you (or did you) have any other security (related) software installed?
If so, which one(s) ?

What exact version of Outlook are you using?
Who is your mail provider?
What os/sp?

Answering your questions, one by one:
Have you tried to send/receive mail with https scanning disabled?
If not try it and let me know.

  • I have in my avast the itens:the Active Protection called module files, module email, module internet, module firewall, and anti spam and secure dns. I disabled module email protection, nothing changed. I disabled module internet protection, nothing changed, and I disabled module firewall, nothing changed, the Outlook doesn’t work properly, can’t send o or receive e-mails. That’s the message of Outlook:
Your server cannot support the kind of chriptography specified. Try to change the method of chriptography. Error 0x800CCC1a. That’s it.

Can you send/receive mail if you only disable one of the avast shields?
Start with only disabling the webshield.

  • Same answer, see my procedures with each module.

Do you (or did you) have any other security (related) software installed?
If so, which one(s) ?

  • Yes, Spybot.

What exact version of Outlook are you using?
Who is your mail provider?
What os/sp?

  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (12.0.6691.5000) SP3 MSO
  • I have some providers, for some e-mails adresses GMAIL is the main, and the
    problem is with all addresses.
  • Like I said, maybe you did’nt notice, at the firs post:
    Window 7, ultimate, SP1 32 bits
Like I said, if I disable AVAST, all modules, everything, Outlook Works 100%.

Well, thanks, and let me know if you need more informations.
Mad.

I asked:

Have you tried to send/receive mail with https scanning disabled?
You only talk about modules and not answering the question.

Can you send/receive mail if you only disable one of the avast shields? Start with only disabling the webshield. - Same answer, see my procedures with each module.
I don't see you mentioning the webshield as I suggested to start with.

Ditch Spybot, it is very outdated when it comes to detections/removal harmful things.

How to disable http scanning? You didn’t teach me. I though disabling modules I was doing that.
Webshield is supposed to be module internet for me. Is it not? You must consider that my Avast Internet Security is in portuguese, k? Module internet protection probably is what you call webshield, my friend. Ok, how to do that? Could you teach me?
You don’t like spypot? Good for you. I like…
Waiting for your divine help…
Thanks.
