Avast Internet Security Blocks VMWare Workstation Bridged Connections

Hi. I’m using Avast Internet Security and VMWare Workstation 10 running on a Windows 8.1 machine. When I launch a virtual machine using a bridged connection to my home network, SSH communications to the VM from the host are blocked after a short while by AIS.

Example: launch a CentOS 6 VM in VMWare Workstation. Open a Putty session on the Windows 8.1 host and SSH into the CentOS VM. Run a repeating command in the putty session such as ping localhost. After about 2 minutes, the putty session on the Windows hosts freezes. Now, go to Avast Shields Control, and disable for 10 minutes and rerun the same scenario. The putty session from the Windows host does not drop.

Does anyone know a workaround for this please?
