Avast Internet Security Keeps blocking my openVPN client

Hi,

I’m using Avast Internet Security version 18.3.2333
I have the avast vpn purchased, but regardless of it, I wanted to have custom VPN setup.
so I’ve recently purchased a VPS box, and I’m trying to have custom VPN with it (via openVPN).
I’ve tried the following exceptions to avast:

  1. Protection → Firewall → Application Settings:
OpenVPN GUI: Set to “All Connections”
OpenVPn Dameon: Set to “All Connections” (my install)
OpenVPN Dameon: Set to “All Connections” (avast)

  2. Protection → Firewall → Settings:
Packet Rules : System Rules :
[v] Allow VPN connection via PP2P
[v] Allow VPN connection via L2TP

Packet Rules : Packet Rules :
(Ad new rule) - top most with:
All: All, In/Out, Address - my box IP, profile: All

Yet, when I try to connect with avast running, while doing openVPN connect I get the following error:

Tue Apr 10 18:31:03 2018 MANAGEMENT: >STATE:1523374263,WAIT,,,,,, Tue Apr 10 18:31:03 2018 read UDP: Unknown error (code=10054) Tue Apr 10 18:31:05 2018 read UDP: Unknown error (code=10054) Tue Apr 10 18:31:09 2018 read UDP: Unknown error (code=10054)

unless i disable all shields, and then i get passed that point.

How can I enable this inside this firewall without having to disable all shields ??

I had problem with openVPN config file.
After replacing it it worked good…

Thanks for the update.
