avast internet security screensaver scanner

let me first say that i think your screensaver scanner in avast internet security 6 is awesome!!
anyway to the point:

i do not like any screensaver on my computer as they have a bad habit of of activating when you least expect it
or interrupting when you are reading online or in a game etc.
because of this i do not have a screensaver activated in my computer at all in the screensaver settings, i do however have a manual
screensaver that i can activate whenever i choose to by a desktop icon (http://www.dreamaquarium.com).
my suggestion would be that it would be fantastic if your guys could do this and have a desktop icon shortcut to activate the scanner screensaver manually too.
thank you

Hi jaduk,

To intiate the avast screensaver, is the same as manually initiating any other screensaver. Just run the screensaver file.

C:\Windows\avastSS.scr

To change the settings, for it

Open avast → Settings (top right) → Show Special Scans in avast interface → OK

Scan now → Find ScreenSaver scan → click settings

There you can change scanning settings and the underlying screensaver.

Oh… Wait and see the great facelift of the version 7 for the screensaver

Hi
Just upgraded from 6 to Ver 7 and the only question I have so far is about the new screen saver.
In Ver 6 when the screen saver was activated it showed how many files it was scanning.
In Ver 7 it always shows number of files 0. Being zero mean it no longer scans my hard drive?
Also can someone explain what this means: File - Waiting for the next scan (60:35). This number is always different when the screen saver activates.
Appreciate your help & thank you

It depends on your settings: loop and wait interval.

Tech,
Thank you it solved the problem.
Now if only I can solve the other problem with this update!

Which is?
