Avast Internet Security on my Dell Inspiron 6400 using Windows Vista started to fail yesterday. The user interface does not start. I keep restarting the program and my computer, and nothing works. I had to subscribe to a 60-day free trial to Avast Internet Security. That will be a waste of money if the program does not resolve and the trail period renews automatically.

Should both “Terminal Services” and “Terminal Services Configuration” be set to Automatic?
I am working with “Terminal Services” and not “Terminal Services Configuration” at the present.
I was on 18.6.2349 (build 18.6.3983.0).
I clicked “Update” under Program. Now I have a “not responding” message.
My affected computer must be using a lot of memory trying to update Avast Internet Security. I have power it down, will restart it, and, hopefully, it will have energy to do something.
